Thank you to our generous school community for your donations to our Angel Tree Program.  Your gifts will bring a smile to so many children in our community Christmas morning!

St. Kateri Christmas Concert

We are looking forward to seeing our families join us Tuesday morning for the return of our annual Christmas Concert!  Here are some of the most important details of which to take note:

• When: Tuesday, December 20 @ 8:45 a.m.
• Families can arrive beginning at 8:35 a.m.
• Please park on one of our side streets – we only have enough parking spots for staff members
• Please do not enter the school driveway
• Please use the Gymnasium entrance (side entrance closest to the school parking lot)
• Please stay for the duration of the concert – we will break for recess from 9:45-10:00 a.m.
• Please do not bring any food or drinks

Christmas Mass

Parents and family members are welcome to join us for our Christmas Mass taking place in our school gymnasium on Wednesday, December 21 @ 1:00 p.m.

We are excited for our upcoming Christmas concert which is on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. The concert will begin at 8:45 am. Parents are welcome to start arriving at 8:35 am. We will be breaking for recess at 9:45-10:00 am.

We ask that you park on the road and avoid using the teacher parking lot or front laneway – the morning can be very busy with buses and staff arriving at school.

When you arrive, please use the “Gymnasium” door to get to our school gym. We also ask that you kindly don’t bring any food or drinks.

All the students are excited to share and perform for their families. To support all St. Kateri students, we ask that you stay for the duration of the concert.

St. Kateri Staffing Change in the New Year

There is one staffing change, effective January 9, of which we would like to make those in our community aware.

• Congratulations to Mr. Dustin Rose, who has been appointed the Principal of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary School!  Mr. Rose has done an exceptional job as our Vice Principal the past year and a half.  He has taken the lead with Student Transportation, co-coached our Boys’ Volleyball Team, assisted our Student Equity Engagement Council with their initiatives, helped move our school from a Gold to a Platinum ECO School, and has supported student learning in so many other ways.  We wish you nothing but continued success in your new position at Blessed Sacrament, Mr. Rose!  Thank you for all you have done for the Bulldog community!
• Please join us in welcoming Mr. Dan Ingoldsby to St. Kateri.  Mr. Ingoldsby is a very well respected retired WCDSB Administrator and will be our acting Vice Principal until a full-time replacement for Mr. Rose is named.

St. Kateri Tekakwitha Angel Tree

Once again, our beautiful Christmas tree is on display in the front foyer of our school.   Christmas is a magical time of year and, as the Christmas holidays draw closer, the fact remains that this time of year can be very difficult for families who are experiencing challenges.  Our Angel Tree Program’s mission is to assist families who are struggling with providing gifts for their children. 

In the next few days our tree will be transformed from a regular Christmas tree to a magical Angel Tree.  Students are invited to bring a gift for a child in the coming weeks and place it under our Angel Tree.   As this is also a time of great food insecurity, we will also accept non-perishable food donations.  The gifts and food will be brought to St. Aloysius Parish where they will be distributed. 

We raised our Angel Tree on Friday, November 25^th.  If your family can participate and contribute to our Angel Tree Program, you are invited to bring an unwrapped gift to the foyer to place under the tree before Thursday December 15^th.  Gifts and food donations will be sent to St Aloysius on Friday December 16^th.

Sacramental Registration – First Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation at St. Aloysius Parish

Parents of students in Grades 2 and 7, a reminder that the deadline to register your child to receive the sacraments of First Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation is next Thursday, December 15.  Please contact the parish should you have any questions.  

St. Kateri Christmas Concert

We are looking forward to the return of a St. Kateri tradition – The Christmas Concert!  Mark your calendars – our Christmas Concert for parents and families will take place the morning of Tuesday, December 20.  Parents attending are asked to stay for the entire concert, to avoid disruptions, if their schedule permits.

Parents and family members are welcome to join us for our Christmas Mass taking place in our school gymnasium on Wednesday, December 21 @ 1:00 p.m.
