Australia Red Cross Fundraiser!
Our Umbrella Project Trait for February is Purpose. Our community initiatives (our purpose) reflects what is important to us, our core values and what we deem meaningful. As a Catholic and loving school community this means we do what we can to support those in need.
The Umbrella Team would love to see our school community come together and make it our united purpose to help the Beautiful country of Australia as it continues to battle devastating wildfires.
During the week of February 24-28 our school will be collecting donations to support the Australian Red Cross.
Thank you for supporting our collective Purpose!
Together we can do great things!

St. Kateri Cake Raffle!
Our Annual Cake Raffle is happening Friday February 14th! Tickets are 25 cents each and can be bought from your child’s classroom teacher on February 14th. Each class will get the opportunity to preview the cakes early in the school day and place their tickets in the cakes they would like to win. The draw for all of the cakes will take place at 2:30 on Friday February 14th. Cakes will come home that same day with your child if they win. We are accepting cake, cupcake, cake pops and cookie donations from our school community to help make this day successful. If you are donating a cake or another delicious treat please have it at the office by 8:15 am on February 14th (or the day before is great too).
All proceeds are going to support Health Training , Supplies and clinics in Rural China through the We Charity Program. More information can be found about We Charity here: https://www.wecharity.org/about-we-charity/about-us/
Thank you so much for supporting our School! The Cake Raffle is always such a fun day!
Cut the Cutlery at St. Kateri
Over the past year, our EcoTeam has been working hard to be diligent about our recycling program. We have been teaching our staff and students about the dangers of plastics in our environment, as plastic will never decompose or biodegrade but rather only break into smaller pieces causing irreparable damage to our ecosystems. By using our water bottle refill stations, and recycling “lunchbox” plastics through our TerraCycle program, our school is significantly reducing the amount of plastic ending up in nature.
Our next mission…is to CUT THE CUTLERY! Beginning in February, our school will no longer be providing plastic cutlery for students or staff to use at school. Plastic cutlery cannot be recycled, meaning it all goes to our landfills and will remain there forever. If your child requires cutlery for their lunch, please ensure that you send reusable cutlery in their lunch bag. Thank you for continuing to do your part in creating a better planet for our students!
