The Final Two Days of the 2020-2021 School Year

June 28th and 29th

The 2020-2021 School Year IS IN THE BOOKS!

Thank you to EVERYONE in our school community – students, parents and staff – for your hard work, support, trust and understanding throughout this very challenging school year!  The St. Kateri community has a strong reputation for being supportive and we are fortunate to have had each other to lean on and help us through the demanding times we faced this year – the two shifts to remote learning, the March Break that was moved to April, the movement of students at the beginning of the year – to and from St. Isidore, the combining of some of our classes, changes in teaching assignments, and a boundary review.  But…WE did it!  And, we are excited and hopeful for a 2021-2022 school year that more closely resembles a ‘regular’ year, but one that is even better in so many ways!  This is why we have dubbed next year, ‘ST. KATERI 2.0’ (2.0 – a superior or more advanced version of an original concept).

Best of luck to our Gr. 8 graduates heading off to high school in the fall!  Please come back and visit when it is okay to do so!

Have a safe, happy, healthy and fun-filled summer, Bulldogs – see you September 7th!

God Bless,

Mr. D. Lynch

Principal

Class Placements

Please stay tuned – our preference is to return to a ‘Sneak Peek’ in late August/early September – where parents come into the school to pick up the school start up package and find out their child’s teacher for the upcoming year.  However, we will need to wait to see if this plan meets with Public Health approval.  If we are not able to conduct a Sneak Peek, teachers will connect with the parents of their students through an email or a phone call the week before school begins.

Updated Staffing Changes for 2021-2022…

Here are the  amazing educators and people we are saying good-bye to as well as some good people we will be welcoming to our team in September.

Farewells…

  • Congratulations to Mrs. Harney, Mrs. Geraghty, and Mrs. Torre on your retirements!  You have all had very influential careers and have been outstanding educators, mentors and leaders for the students and staff in the St. Kateri school community for many years.  We will miss you dearly and hope to see you often next year – supply teaching, or simply stopping by for a visit!

  • We wish Mrs. Vreeswyk all the best as she transitions to Christ the King as their full time Special Education Teacher.  Thank you for all of your good work in your time at St. Kateri!

  • Good Luck to Ms. Jardim and Ms. Walker in their next, to be determined, teaching positions with our board.  You will both be great additions to any school!

  • Good Luck to Ms. Pfeiffer who has been teaching at St. Isidore on an interim basis this year, but has left her position at St. Kateri for a permanent position at St. Isidore.

  • Best of Luck to Mr. Quintano who will be supporting students in his role at CYCW at another school (or two) in our board next year.

  • Her final day was last Friday, but Mrs. Lane was a huge support as our 0.5 Admin Assistant this year.

  • Congratulations and Best of Luck to the new Principal of St. Luke – our own Ms. Kavanagh!  You will be GREAT in your new role in your new community!  Thank your for your leadership at St. Kateri the past 2 ½ years!
